A well executed sneaker
Michael· Review provided by xeroshoes.com · March 31, 2024
These shoes are great. They’re stylish, comfortable, and versatile. I’ve worn them to work (business casual attire) and gotten away with it, I’ve hit them gym in them, taken family walks, gone to the store and everything in between.

I started wearing my shoes without socks to increase muscle stimulation and ground feel. The draw back is that no matter how much I wash my feet, they reek to high heavens. So naturally these shoes got to wear I could smell them from 10 feet away, which is mildly embarrassing when out in public. Soaking the shoe in lukewarm water and blue dawn detergent for an hour, scrubbing with a toothbrush, and then air drying under a box fan rendered the shoes odor free and looking almost as good as new.

I’m not 100% sold on the 5000 miles idea though. I’ve had this pair for 5-6 months and they’re not completely worn out, but I imagine they’ll last another 3-4 months. However, this is almost twice the durability than I would get out of the $50 sneakers I used to buy, and these have other benefits. I’ve transitioned all of my shoes to zero drop, wide toe box and I have seen huge strides (pun intended) with my foot strength, my shin splints are fewer and farther between (also a shout out to kneesovertoesguy), my knee pain is virtually gone, and I overpronate significantly less than I did 6 months ago.

These shoes have been a large part of improving my on-my-feet life over the last six months and I couldn’t be happier. I will be replacing these with another pair of Xeros, and when my current hiking shoes and trainers wear out, I know where I’ll be shopping. Maybe one day I’ll even be buying running shoes from Xero.
Great Shoes, But Wear Out Sooner than Expected
Bretton· Review provided by xeroshoes.com · October 10, 2024
The Black Dillons quickly replaced all of my previous shoes. I absolutely love the way they feel, and they look good enough for most occasions. As my first shoe from this company, I wanted something that I could wear nearly all the time, in order to get a feel for them.
With that said, the sole insert they come with makes the shoe too tight, so I removed them. They are, however, extremely comfortable, so I ended up putting those sole inserts into my work boots and they have been doing me great there.
As for the shoes themselves, I wore them walking, running (several times between 3-5 miles each), lifting, easy hiking, and almost any other typical scenario you can think of. They performed great.

The only downside to these, and I've been meaning to leave this review for a while now, is that the insole - the one built into the shoe - wore a hole right where the ball of my foot is in the shoes. Both the left and right shoes have a hole worn fairly deep into them, that began in only about a months wear. MUCH sooner than I would have anticipated. I have continued wearing the shoes since, and they still serve me well. It is simply disappointing to love everything about this shoe, only for the interior to wear so quickly.

Perhaps I was harder on the shoe than was intended, that may be fair to say, however, I don't think I've ever worn another pair so quickly. Though, I still rate them 4 stars because they are an otherwise fantastic shoe that have made it impossible for me to return to convential shoes.
Xerox’s Dillions are great but could be better
David C.· Review provided by xeroshoes.com · September 20, 2023
I really enjoy the feel of Xero’s Dillons they are roomy, light, and have a sleek modern look that parallels the popular Converse All Stars.

However there is still room for improvement on the Dillons. Don’t get me wrong as I mentioned I love these shoes I own two pairs. Here is my feedback for what it’s worth:

1. The big blue Xero label is off putting and doesn’t blend into the simple and cool style of the shoe. I’ve removed it from both pairs of my Dillons. It looks like it was added as an afterthought not designed into the shoe. I understand there needs to be some brand recognition but it’s already there on the back of the shoe. Maybe there’s an opportunity for it to be placed on the bottom of the shoe as you rarely are able to spot the brand when people are walking but when they are seated with their feet up the X in Xero will signal to us casual shoe enthusiasts this is it! Like a X on a map this is what you’re looking for.

2. The transferability of the materials on the white Dillions is concerning. I’ve never owned another shoe that allowed the dye from my jeans to transfer so easily. This is why I own two pairs of Dillons; one to wear with jeans or pants that hides the blue ring around the top of my shoe another to wear with shorts so that they still look clean. The off-white (not sure this color choice was intentional or just cheap material but do not like it) material running along the eyelets of the laces seems to allow for more transferability than the other white synthetic material comprising the rest of the shoe. I have not tried to clean the blue dye off my Dillons as I know it’s futile and will quickly return. Also I’m fairly certain the laces would be destroyed as they are cotton versus a polyester or other synthetic material. I can afford multiple pairs of Dillons but I’m not certain all consumers can or would purchase additional shoes to avoid this issue.

3. The laces as mentioned above in observation #2 they are prone to staining given the material used. I’d also recommend considering laces that allow the wearer a bit more flexibility. This will allow the wearer the ability to slide the shoe in and off and make kneeling and crouching less restrictive or painful on the extensor muscles and tendons. I’ve recently tried swapping my laces with a pair of synthetic white laces from my older running shoes and really appreciate the results to address these issues with my Dillons. BONUS: the style of the narrower synthetic shoe lace really enhances the cool sleek look of the Dillons which make me enjoy them even more now.

Again I love the Dillons I think you have a customer for life even if you do not incorporate these suggestions in future releases. But I’m just one customer of billions of potential customers who may be deterred by these observations of Xero’s Dillons. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to review this product.
The Xero Dillon's are my favorite casual shoe
Barefooter· Review provided by REI · February 25, 2024
I've tried many different zero drop / wide-toe box shoes. Unfortunately, the others have weird designs that make them impractical for everyday wear or use rubber that quickly wears out. My previous favorites cost $130 not including shipping and had to come from Germany, and even those had the soles wear out extremely quickly. I tried two pairs of that brand before giving up because they looked so good. Now that xero has more casual shoes, I've got three pairs of these kind because I'm scared they'll cancel them and it will take a long time to find a comparable pair.

I go to the gym in these shoes and use them for everyday work / casual wear. They look great, and feel great. If the white part gets too dirty, a quick rub with a magic eraser cleans them right up.

I'd recommend this pair for everything except running.
