In reviewing the PetSafe Cat Door/Flap, I first have to say that my indoor kitty has not used it yet. I'm sure he will, but he will need a bit of prompting.
That IS stated in the instructions as well.
I am reviewing the product itself.
The door feels well made, and installation was easy.
The door flap itself has two locking mechanisms.
One lock is so you can allow your cat to enter, but not go back through, i.e.; come in from outside and not be able to go back out. You have the option for which side you block.
The other lock is to close it completely, or freely open from both sides.
As you can see in the pictures, the product comes with a template for your door.
The whole installation took approximately 30 minutes start to finish.
We decided to use it on our Bonus Room door so my kitty can go in and out anytime, even with the door closed.
I look forward to training him to use it!

Easy to use cat door! I received this product for free from influenster and PetSafe in exchange for my honest review. I am very impressed at how sturdy and well-built this cat door is. It comes with easy instructions for setting up. My most favorite feature about this cat door is that the flap is very easy for my cat to go in and out of. It also has locks on it with just the turn of the button. I like that you can lock with either the cat going in or the cat going out. Or you can have it open both ways for the cat to go in and out. It is nice for nighttime when your cat comes in, and then they can't go out through it anymore with the lock feature. It came with all the screws and easy readable instructions. It also has a QR code, so you can see a video of how to install the cat door. I am very happy with this pet safe product. This is a very good brand.

I really like that this door is lockable, and single way lockable to allow the cat in, but not back out again. It takes some training. My cat ran into it several times before he got it down, and now he checks to see if it’s locked before approaching at ramming speed. It’s very quiet, and installation wasn’t too difficult after cutting the hole. It seems pretty weather tight, especially with a bead of caulking around the outer edge. My one complaint is that the locking mechanism is just plastic, and I’m not sure how long it will hold up in the sun. Other than that though, it’s a nice cat door, and will accommodate a fairly large cat. I do like that it’s clear, so you can see if it’s the cat coming in, or furry intruders that may try to take advantage.

First and foremost the quality of this cat door is much sturdier than other brands I’ve tried in the past. The frame is solid and the door itself is very secure. I love the locking mechanism on the door that allows for different options based off your preference or needs. If you want to keep your cats in or out you can lock it entirely, you can let the flap go both ways or just in or out. Installation was very easy, the package came with a template to use to cut out your door and the hardware was all included. Would definitely recommend.
