Great bike that is fun to ride
Patrick· Review provided by aventon.com · May 20, 2023
I bought this bicycle with commuting to work in mind. I live in the foothills and my ride back home at the end of the workday includes a gain in elevation of about 600 feet. Thus far, I've commuted 3 times. The pedal assist made the ride home simple. In fact, there is only a 2-minute difference between the ride to work and the ride home. That's not bad for a guy in his late 50s. Assembly was super simple, Aventon included all the tools I needed to assemble the bike, simplifying the process. Before I got the bike, I really didn't think I'd use the throttle but I find it a convenient tool the get going again after a full stop. For others considering the purchase of an ebike, you should strongly consider Aventon. I have friends who own ebikes from other companies and seeing the ergonomics on the others, for instance the location of the charging port, just made me feel better about my purchase. Aventon put thought into all aspects of this ebike's design that their competitors didn't.
Love the Pace 350.2 Step Through

I will turn 71 this summer, and I used to be an avid biker. However, after having both knees replaced as well as one hip, I had done little riding over the past three years. I had thought about an eBike, but was hesitant, not knowing what to expect. Well, I must say that purchasing my Aventon was one of the best decisions I have made. Assembly was straightforward. Using the 350.2 was, well, like riding a bike. The assist provided in hills is a God-send. There have been some hills, however, while I managed them with the 350.2, would have been better handled by a more capable motor-battery. Nonetheless, between my peddling and the eBike assist, I can do the hills ... again. I have had the bike for only a week or so, but I think she and I will have a long relationship together.
A fun bike, but I got an error code on my second ride

I haven’t biked in over 20 years since my mid twenties, and I’m now an out of shape dad in his mid forties. I’ve been wanting to get back in shape without stressing my body too much. If possible, I’d like to ease into it a bit.

I bought the Pace 350 after doing a lot or research with my neighbor who is a much more experienced biker, and this seemed like a great way for me to keep up with him. Set up and installation was much simpler than the video instructions that Aventon sends you upon purchase of the bike because it came mostly assembled already. I only had to attach the front wheel and handlebars, and I was good to go.

My first ride with my friend was a 13 mile city trail ride at night that we took after our kids went to bed. I love the pedal assist, as that was the only way I was able keep up with my neighbor. What a fun experience! I engaged pedal assist mainly at the halfway point as that was when my knees started to lock up and I began cramping. We finished in about one and a half hours, and I spent the next fifteen minutes stretching out and rehydrating myself.

On the second ride a few days later, I was still a little sore, but decided to go not as far, only going 11 miles. However, on this second ride, About halfway through the ride, I noticed the pedal assist would start engaging randomly and in spurts. I looked down at the console display and kept getting an Error Code 30. I finished the ride, got home, turned off the bike, then turned it back on. The error code went away. Checked the cable connections, and everything seemed to be connected well.

I haven’t had a chance to ride again as there’s been a lot of rain lately, but hopefully, I hope I won’t get the error code again. This really is a fun bike, and I hope to enjoy it for years to come.
Game changer!

Assembly was pretty easy following the instructions from the video (I have no experience putting bikes together). The 350 is super comfortable and rides like a dream! The motor is plenty strong enough for me, and I like the integrated front and rear lights. Although it’s twice the weight of my traditional Trek hybrid road bike, it still has a smooth ride without peddle assist and doesn’t feel heavy while riding. People wanting exercise without the power can still get it with the 7-speed. It’s very windy where I live, but the pedal assist cuts right through the wind and the bike still hits 20 mph even when the wind is pushing against me at 22 mph. In all, one of my best purchases ever!
