Broken Appliance, No Assistance from Frigidaire
· Review provided by frigidaire.com · June 6, 2024
*BUYER BEWARE*
*DEFECTIVE PRODUCT*
I purchased this nearly four-thousand dollar paper weight from Lowe's and it was subsequently delivered a day later. After delivery, I learned that it may take up to 24 hours for the refrigerator and freezer to reach their respective temperatures. After approximately 36 hours of waiting, it became clear the freezer was not getting cold enough. Ice cream that was in my old unit had actually melted inside of the this paper weight. I then went out and purchased a small thermometer to put inside of the freezer, I learned the freezer, while being set at 0 degrees Fahrenheit, would range from 8-20 degrees Fahrenheit. I called Frigidaire customer support and after being told the wait was approximately 1 minute, I waited on hold for forty-five minutes. After speaking with the representative I learned that she would contact a repair person and have them come to my house to inspect the unit, she also told me to wait until after the service was rendered to receive compensation for my freezer goods that had to be thrown away.

A day after my conversation the local repair company arrived, inspected the unit and said that it was low on coolant. They said they would need to order the coolant and it would be a couple of days but they would call me. After waiting two days and not hearing anything, I called them and they had apparently forgotten, but would acquire the coolant on the day that I called but now could not come out to actually render a solution for another day. I contacted Frigidaire a second time, as now the local repair person, that I wasn't even able to pick, has already displayed a disturbing lack of effort and now my four-thousand dollar Frigidaire Paper Weight actually recognized that the freezer isn't cold enough and has begun beeping.

I spoke with a representative who was unable to help, so I asked to speak with her supervisor. She then became rude but connected me to her supervisor. Her supervisor, with her disgusting, condescending attitude, told me there was nothing that they could do for me, and that I would not be refunded for the loss of food in my freezer. I am actually not sure that it is even legal for them to not replace the food which their product destroyed, lets analyze the facts: I had a functioning freezer, traveled to Lowe's, paid nearly four-thousand dollars for what was sold to me as a functioning freezer, placed my food into it, turns out they were wrong and it wasn't functioning, not the food is not edible.

TL;DR
I will never purchase another Frigidaire product again, and I would strongly urge you to do the same! They sell broken appliances and do not treat the customer fair, or even with an ounce of respect.
[Rewarded Review] Really great fridge!!

What I love about this refrigerator:

Thinner profile (depth) than our previous fridge by about 6 inches.

The "flex" middle drawer that can be either extra fridge space OR more freezer (we'll likely always use as freezer cause I try to stay stocked up on veggies that won't go bad.) Also love that the depth of this drawer is perfect for housing 12 packs of canned drinks in their original packaging with room to spare.

The water dispenser continues even if the right side door is opened (had a Samsung that would shut off if someone opened the other side of the fridge and it got annoying.)

The pull out top shelf in the bottom freezer is *open* at the front, thus it's not a hindrance to pull things off it quickly, and it's nice to have separation from the bottom "catch-all." We saw other fridges where this was an actual drawer instead of shelf and you had to pull it alllll the way out to get it out from under the drawer above it and get something out of it.

And something that I hadn't really paid any mind to but now I'm genuinely impressed: the "Crispseal" drawer seriously keeps fresh vegetables from going bad. We're in Florida where the heat and humidity causes so many foods to quickly wilt or grow mold. I noticed I bought spinach in a plastic container and didn't get around to using the second half for about 2 weeks. Went to finish it and without this being on my mind, immediately noticed none of it was mushy or slimy! This really impresses me!! All these refrigerator brands make claims about keeping veggies fresh, but I learned to ignore them because it never seems to be true. I will vouch for this crisper drawer! Grateful that will save us money. These crisper drawers can be reversed, where they act as open bins that you reach into and don't need to pull out. You just turn it around!

Can honestly say I've never been this satisfied with a fridge before. 100% recommend
Missing control options.

Even though it wasn't the color I ordered (brushed black stainless) it still looks appealing but more on the gray side, and yes fingerprints show rather loudly. Confirm your true color before allowing a child employee to place your order!
All but the 4th door do not close as they should, left side has to be pushed shut with a bit more effort. Freezer door almost empty has to be forced shut.
The lighted temperature display is all but fake as it only shows the setpoint ONLY, it doesn't tell you the ACTUAL temperature inside (huge letdown for me) even my old GE fridges told you the inside temps including the setpoint.
The other door mounted controls have no backlighting at all,, water, crushed ice, cubed ice and other settings,, non of it is backlit.. So; if you're using at night or in low lighting you will not be able to see any of the controls without turning all the kitchen lights on. I'm even considering a return because of this missing feature that would have been very easy to incorporate into the display.
Had I known this I would have purchased another model! Seriously!!
As for temperature, it got really cold really fast, I haven't tested the turbo chill or quick drink chill modes yet as I have other items in the 4th drawer that really do not need such a rapid temperature change, I'll likely never use it.
I have tested the crisper drawers and they seem to work quite well as I placed both broccoli and carrots in open Tupperware containers removed from moist bags from the store and the crisper drawers dried them out pretty good and made them crispy overnight. But filters have to be purchased every 6 months for this feature to work well. Begs to question how many years will they keep these on the shelf?
Overall it'll hold us over with a family of 4 but these door and temperature control issues will always haunt me every time I approach it.
Oh and the ice maker is doing great so far, plenty full at all times and really throws out the ice cubes or crushed. Ice cubes are small pyramid shaped squares without the point of course. Pleased with the ice maker so far. But if I ever need to know the internal temperatures I'll need to invest in a separate thermometer within that range and move it from door to door. That's pathetic in my book knowing my 20 year old fridge had this option. But the LED lighting is a plus, assuming the electronics hold up. LED bulbs last a long time but the high frequency electronics do not.
My decision not to return it would fall on timing, it took me over 3 weeks to have this delivered while we lived out of a cooler buying two bags of ice every day so,, do I live that way again knowing it'll take weeks for Lowe's to deliver me another unit? Exactly!
Overall I'm not happy with this model but must suffer knowing they won't have my preferred model ready to go! I believe they had to smelt the metal and build this one before they had it in stock.

Hope this helps someone's decision process, for the price i really do not recommend this unit, do your homework well.
[Rewarded Review] Really Enjoying Our Frigidaire Fridge
MargTul· Review provided by frigidaire.com · September 21, 2024
We are really enjoying our new Frigidaire four door refrigerator. It's spacious in all three compartments and we love use of the middle flex temp section to put our frozen treats and breakfast goods for easy access.

Heads up! If your electricity goes out, you might check the middle flex temp drawer to see if it is still set to your last setting. It may have a default that is different. For example, ours defaulted to fridge temperature and we had to reset it to freezer temperature. The door information panel of the main compartment does show you if the electricity has gone out which is great.

Another nice feature that is so easy to use is the temperature settings. We've had such warm days this summer so we lowered the temperature in the main compartment and freezer by one or two degrees which really helped. Adjustments are so easy.

We like our icemaker and water dispensers really well and all of the various filters to keep the air fresh and smelling good inside the fridge seem to be working well. We have been pleased with ordering replacement water and air filters on the Frigidaire website and can't see really any better prices elsewhere. The website keeps track of things you purchase and we have utilized the auto shipment on the water filters which is helpful.

The outside of the fridge as well as the inside compartments are easy to clean and maintain that new product look. We have a small drip cloth folded and placed on the water dispenser so it doesn't collect any hard water deposits in case of drips or spills but we will say the dispenser doesn't drip which is great. Any water drips are our doing. We have added some shelf mats inside for some protection as well as for ease of cleaning. There are some really cool fridge accessories out there these days.

We really love our new Frigidaire and expect to enjoy it for many years to come.
